from Abortion In Washington by Mary E.
Komo News broke a story late Tuesday about a 15 year old girl Ballard High School student was taken for an abortion in Seattle without her parents knowledge or consent.
In Washington, secret teen abortions are nothing new. What comes as a shock to parents like "Jill', the mother of the aborted teen, is the seamless end-to-end system that has been set up to facilitate these abortions. This system includes the school districts, abortion industry, public health officials, state laws and non-profits that leave nothing to chance.
One part of this story that went almost unnoticed
was the fact that this girl was taken to the
abortion center in a taxi.
Who paid for the taxi? How did it get to the school?
Who dispatched it? Which abortion provider did it
take her to? AIW has learned that
taxi services to "contracting school districts
throughout King County" are provided by the
Redmond-based non-profit Hopelink.

SEATTLE, Washington, March 24, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) – A Seattle mother is furious after learning that her 15-year-old daughter was sent by her school's health center for a secret abortion, reports ABC-affiliate KOMO.
The mother, identified only as “Jill,” says her daughter was given a pregnancy test at Ballard High School's Teen Health Center, which came back positive. Rather than informing the parents, she said, the center gave the girl a pass and put her in a taxi for the abortuary, all during school hours. Read more...

Renton 40 Days for Life saved a baby today! Thanks be to God for this grandest news!
Louise Scott and Mary Kasprzyk were praying together at Cedar River today, when an 18-year-old girl was dropped off for an abortion. After hesitating for a while near the clinic entrance, she came over to speak to Louise. As soon as they began talking, one of the girl’s friends just happened to be walking by and stopped to talk also. The friend was holding her own little baby girl. Louise did everything to convince the pregnant mother that she needed to choose life for her baby, and offered her help and everything that she might need. But the mother ended up going into the abortion center with her friend.
Louise and Mary continued to pray, that God might change their hearts. Soon, the pregnant mother and her friend came back out of the abortion clinic. They talked with Louise again, and told her that they were unable to go through with the abortion because Cedar River would not allow the friend’s little baby girl into their clinic. Louise was able to speak with the girls some more, and then they got onto the bus and left. They do not plan to come back later for an abortion. Praise God! The little unborn baby was saved by the little girl! How beautiful and touching!

Vol. 12/No. 9
On July 25, 1968, Pope Paul VI’s Humanae Vitae re-affirmed the Catholic teaching on life, love and human sexuality. In that document, he listed the consequences of life lived outside Catholic teaching.
He predicted that:
1. Contraception would lead to conjugal infidelity.
2. Contraceptive practice would lead to a “general lowering of morality.”
3. Contraception would lead men to cease respecting woman in their totality and would cause them to treat women as “mere instruments of selfish enjoyment” rather than as cherished partners.
4. And finally, widespread acceptance of contraception by couples would lead to a massive imposition of contraception by unscrupulous governments.
In other words, Pope Paul VI predicted that contraception would evolve from “a lifestyle choice” into a weapon of mass destruction. How dreadfully his prophecy has been vindicated by population control and coercive sterilization programs, fertility reduction quotas and the promotion of abortion literally everywhere in the world. "I just learned with sorrow of the death of one of the world's greatest pro-life advocates, Fr. Paul Marx, OSB."Fr. Marx was, first and foremost, a priest who was not afraid to be a prophet. He knew that his mission in bearing witness to the Gospel and in fostering love of God and neighbor compelled him to speak up for our smallest neighbors, those in the first moments and weeks of life. He undertook countless initiatives, made seemingly endless trips, gave innumerable talks, wrote a warehouse of articles and books, and inspired countless people in the effort to build a Culture of Life."I first came to know Fr. Marx through his founding and leadership of Human Life International and the remarkable conferences he held for pro-life advocates around the world. He was always a clear reminder to his brother priests that we should never be afraid to speak about abortion, contraception, and the beauty of human sexuality as taught by the Church. All of us at Priests for Life are grateful for the strong encouragement he gave to our ministry. We will pray not only for the repose of his soul, but for the continued fruit of his labors in the minds and hearts of so many people and in the policies of so many nations."

The following column by Archbishop Charles J. aput of the Archdiocese of Denver is scheduled to be published in the March 17, 2010 issue of the Denver Catholic Register.
The Senate version of health-care reform currently being forced ahead by congressional leaders and the White House is a bad bill that will result in bad law. It does not deserve, nor does it have, the support of the Catholic bishops of our country. Nor does the American public want it. As I write this column on March 14, the Senate bill remains gravely flawed. It does not meet minimum moral standards in at least three important areas: the exclusion of abortion funding and services; adequate conscience protections for health-care professionals and institutions; and the inclusion of immigrants.
Groups, trade associations and publications describing themselves as “Catholic” or “prolife” that endorse the Senate version – whatever their intentions – are doing a serious disservice to the nation and to the Church, undermining the witness of the Catholic community; and ensuring the failure of genuine, ethical health-care reform. By their public actions, they create confusion at exactly the moment Catholics need to think clearly about the remaining issues in the health-care debate. They also provide the illusion of moral cover for an unethical piece of legislation. Read more...

The
40 Days for Life campaign is half over - can you believe it? What
an amazing time it has been. We have had
the rains return and have seen a renewed testiness
on the part of Planned Parenthood, but everyone has
persevered in faith, hope, and charity. We have been
able to share the truth about the sanctity of life
with those coming to, and passing by, a place of
death and sorrow. We have been a witness for life
and a beacon of hope - all while standing in
solidarity with some of the nicest people in Pierce
County. God is good!
The most wonderful news so far in the campaign comes
from Christine Ryalls. Christine is the
Tacoma 40
Days for Life vigil
coordinator for this campaign. It looks like God has
blessed her hard work with a great grace. On the
last shift of the day yesterday, Christine and Kim
Carroll had an encounter with a special mom and
baby. Below are Christine's own words,
Kim and I had great news yesterday at Planned Parenthood which I thought you might utilize in your weekly letter. A van pulled up, rolled down the window and said, "Would you like to see a picture of the baby you saved?" Turns out to be the most beautiful baby girl you ever saw with soft brown curls. She was named 'Angelisa' or something like that, but "Angel" for short. :) A year ago, our people referred her to CareNet, she went and saw an ultrasound and decided to keep her baby. She already had 3 boys and just felt too poor and too young to have another baby, but she was ecstatic that she had a girl and she couldn't get over how close she had come to aborting her baby girl. Kim and I were teary eyed. Who wouldn't be? I gave her my email and with luck she will send us a picture of Angel. We told her how uplifting that was for us to hear. She was on her way to CareNet to tell them the same thing.
Wow! Please offer a prayer of thanksgiving
for this miracle of His mercy. And please pray for
this young mother and her beautiful family.
Tacoma 40 Days for Life has some events coming up - please mark your
calendars:
1. The end of campaign potluck will be held on
Sunday, April 11 (the Sunday after Easter) at St.
Charles Borromeo parish at 4:30. We could use some
help with the set-up, clean-up and coordination of
food items. Please respond and let us know if you
can help with this.
2. There will a big turn out of youth at the vigil
on Saturday, March 20 at 11:00 am. Please come out
and join them! It would be wonderful to have a large
group of joyful pro-lifers lifting up prayers and
praise.
Thank you for your dedication and love. You are
truly standing in the gap for the precious unborn,
and are a hand of hope and support for desperate and
hurting women. May God bless and protect all of you!
