The Gospel of Life Institute occasionally receives inquiries about pro-life obstetricians in Washington State. In addition to One More Soul, those looking for a pro-life obstetrician or gynecologist can visit Pro-Life Maternal Fetal Medicine and the American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists. The doctors listed on the latter websites may prescribe contraceptives, but they are usually respectful of the Catholic Church's teaching regarding birth control.

The Gabriel Project, a parish-based ministry to support pregnant women, is coming to the Archdiocese of Seattle. Started in Texas, the project “helps women in crisis pregnancies by offering Christian love and practical solutions at the parish.” Under the leadership of Fr. Ed White, pastor of St. Stephen the Martyr parish in Renton, plans are under way for a local training in September. The training would be provided by Dr. Marcella Colbert, Gabriel Project National Office. We are in the process of identifying people who are interested in the training and starting this ministry in their parish. Initially, we would like to have at least one parish in each of the ten deaneries.
To find out more about the Gabriel Project, please visit Dr. Colbert’s website. She serves as the Director of the Respect Life Office for the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston.
If you are interested in the training and starting this ministry in your parish, please let Jim Thomas know by April 12. Jim will share the names with Fr. White and the other organizers.

Abortion in Washington has posted links to the various news stories regarding the fifteen-year-old girl who received a "secret" abortion with the help of Ballard High School's health clinic and Hopelink. One of the news stories can also be seen at Live Action Blog. Please keep this teenager in your prayers.
