Western Washington Pro-Life Update March 18, 2011
"Given the breakdown in family life, the wholesale attack on innocent
and defenseless human lives, and the violation of the integrity of the
union of marriage in our society, the call to the martyrdom of witness is
ever more urgent." ~
Cardinal Burke,
The Fall of the Christian West, March 11, 2011~

ANNOUNCEMENTS AND NEWS Protect Life, Marriage, and Family Please contact these senators and urge them to oppose HB 1267 (redefines family and legalizes paid surrogacy) and HB 1649 (recognizes out-of-state "domestic partnerships" and applies all future laws regarding marriage and family to domestic partnerships). Legislative hotline: 1-800-562-6000 Additional information: Shocker: Seattle University Helps Planned Parenthood and Other Pro-Abortion Groups By TFP Student Action Should Catholic universities aid Planned Parenthood and other pro-abortion groups? The answer is obviously NO. However, Seattle University – a Catholic institution – offers students the option of interning for Planned Parenthood of Western Washington on its web site. This shocking scandal must be opposed. Unfortunately, it gets worse. The Women Studies department at Seattle University encourages students to “get involved” with pro-abortion groups. Read more... Two Catholic Fathers Refused to Build Planned Parenthood Abortion Mill Pope John Paul II said we are living in a "Culture of Death" and truly the story below is about a kind of courage that is seldom seen. It's a testimony of a Catholic husband and wife with 7 beautiful children who believe in the sanctity of human life, so much so, that the husband was suspended from his construction job because he refused to work on a new Planned Parenthood building. People are stopping to ask us why we are there, and why we believe as we do. Some aren't waiting for an answer, others are. We're listening to them, at times giving them information that is news to them. We plant seeds which someone else may be called to water on a future day. But mostly we pray. Read more... |

Prayer to St. Gerard against the Culture of Death
O great Wonder-Worker of our day, St. Gerard, powerful protector of the mother and her unborn child, beg God, we beseech thee, to crush the mounting forces of anti-life; and to enlighten those who walk in this deadly way that they may see the enormity of their sin and return to the generous observance of the divine law. Pray, too, for mothers that they may prize the great privilege of motherhood and that they may bring up their children in the holy love and fear of God; so saving their own immortal souls and furthering the honor and glory of their Maker; through Christ, our Lord. Amen.
PRIEST: Pray for us, O Great St. Gerard!
PEOPLE: That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ!
PRIEST: Let us pray:
ALL: O Almighty and Eternal Father, Who, in Thy all-wise Providence, has deigned to raise up St. Gerard to be the glorious protector of the mother and her unborn child: grant Thee, we beseech thee, through the powerful intercession of this, Thy servant, that all the diabolical forces of anti-life may be destroyed from the face of the earth forever; that so the Christian family may once more flourish to the praise and eternal glory of Thy Holy Name. This we ask through the merits of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Thy Son, Who liveth and reigneth with Thee and the Holy Ghost -- God forever and ever. Amen.
Imprimi Potest: John N. McCormick, C.SS.R. Provincial Superior of St. Louis, June 15, 1957. Imprimatur: Joseph E. Ritter, Archbishop of St. Louis, May 21, 1957
