EVENTS Push Back Seminar Eighteen months ago, Washingtonians voted to legalize assisted suicide, becoming the second state in the U.S. to legalize the practice. The assisted suicide lobby, led by groups with innocuous-sounding names like "Compassion and Choices," achieved their goal of "Oregon-plus-one" in November 2008. Fortunately, there's good news as well: by working together, we've been able to accomplish significant victories in New Hampshire, Canada, and elsewhere. But suicide advocates have set their sights on spreading the practice of assisted suicide to other areas around our country, including Idaho and Montana. Do you want to Push Back against this pro-elder abuse/ assisted suicide agenda? Here's your opportunity. The Euthanasia Prevention Coalition, True Compassion Advocates, Physicians for Compassionate Care, Compassionate Health Care Network & the Euthanasia Prevention Coalition - BC are co-hosting an educational seminar on the assisted suicide statutes in Washington, Oregon and Montana in Seattle on June 5. The Assisted Suicide Push-Back Seminar will update the participants on the status in Oregon, Washington, and Montana and discuss future directions for challenging assisted suicide. We will also examine how Compassion & Choices is working to insert their agenda into healthcare options in California and throughout the United States.
